Traffic resumes along Bhimdutta Highway after agreement

DIPAYAL: Traffic movements resumed along the Bhimdutta Highway from Thursday after the district administration, transportation entrepreneurs and families of victims of October 6 Doti bus accident reached an agreement. The kin of victims of the bus accident had blocked the Budar-Jorayal road section demanding complete compensation from the entrepreneurs. As per the agreement signed among stakeholders today, the bus operators will provide compensation within next 15 days. Coordinator of the struggle committee, Durga Ojha, said they also agreed to upgrade the road standard. On Wednesday, the victims’ family members had blocked the road in Gaira, Khadina and Budar of the section. The family members have already received Rs 25,000 as expenses for funeral from the entrepreneurs. As many as 30 persons were killed when the passenger bus (Na 3 Kha 5707) had skidded off the road in Jorayal of Doti on October 6.
