District court of Siraha has sentenced Shiva Nandan Kamait, 50, of Majhaura VDC-8 to eight years imprisonment on December 7 for raping a 10-year-old girl. The court also ordered to fine the rapist Rs 15,000. The victim's family had lodged a complaint at DPO Siraha on January 5 accusing him of raping the girl on January 4. Inspector Raj Kumar Shahi of district police office said that the accused was arrested on the same day and was remanded in custody by a district court order on February 3.
