Over 600 human rights violation cases in mid-west

Nepalgunj, 600 bhanda badi manab adhikar hanan case darta. More than 600 cases of human rights violation have been catalogued in the Mid-Western Development Region during the past eight months. According to the statistics released today by the Regional Office of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), a total of 646 cases of human rights violation were reported so far from the month of Baishakh. The highest number of human rights violation incidents was recorded in the health sector while Banke district was where the highest number of human rights violation took place overall during the period, said NHRC Regional Chief Murari Kharel. Kharel said that a total of 306 cases of human rights violation were report in Banke, 61 in Bardiya, 31 in Surkhet, 23 in Dailekh, 35 in Jajarkot, 43 in Dang, 37 in Rolpa, 28 in Rukum, 17 in Salyan, 21 in Pyuthan, 10 in Jumla and eight in Humla. Likewise, 15 human rights violation incidents occurred in Dolpa, 20 in Mugu and six in Kalikot. Most of the cases were of rape, murder, health rights violations, child abuse, senior citizen's rights abuse and robbery.
