The accused in the killing of an elderly couple of Marbu VDC- 4 in north Dolkha have admitted to committing the crime under the influence of alcohol . Narayan Bahadur Gurung, 62, and his wife Prem Kumari Gurung, 63, were brutally murdered on December 6 and the police arrested Padam Bahadur Shrestha, 28, and Shyam Shrestha, 50, of Marbu-8 for their involvement in the killing of the couple. The police presented them to the media organising a press conference Thursday. In his statement before the police, the accused admitted that they visited the couple's house and murdered them with the use of a wooden plank, stones and a stone grinding tool. They consumed alcohol when they killed the couple. They escaped the scene by taking Rs 20,000 from the Gurungs' house and also snatched gold ornaments that Prem Kumari was wearing after killing her, it is learnt.
