Kaski, Dristibihin chatra balatkar ma sanglagra sishak lai 10 barsa kaid faisala. District Court of Kaski has ordered to sentence Danda Pani Dhakal, 47, of Arupokhari VDC-8 Gorkha, living at Bhandardhik, Lekhnath Municipality-1 for 10 years on December 16 on charge of raping an 18-year-old visually-impaired girl. The court has also ordered the convict to pay a compensation of Rs 100,000 to the victim. A single bench of District Court Judge Ram Prasad Oli issued the sentence. The victim's family had lodged a complaint at DPO on September 17 against Dhakal who is also a teacher of Janaprakash Higher Secondary School and in-charge of hostel accommodating visually-impaired accusing him of raping a girl on September 4. The incident was made public on September 16. The accused was arrested by the police on September 16 and was remanded in custody by a court order on October 13. The victim had a health checkup at Western Regional Hospital on September 17.
