Man murders landlady in Eastern Nawalparasi

One man murdered his landlady in a remote village of Nawalparasi district on Sunday. According to Area Police Office Kawasoti, 25-year-old Jhabi Lal Gaha slit the throat of his landlady 45-year-old Rim Kala Gaha Magar of Madhukoti, Naram VDC-9, while she was out to graze her cattle in a nearby forest. The victim rented out a room of her house to Jhabi Lal to run a shop. The locals informed the police after they found the body of Magar lying next to her shed with her throat slit. After learning about the incident, the police sealed the village border and managed to arrest the accused within 12 hours. This is the first incident of police success in nabbing the culprit. Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Inspector Hari Baruwal secured the village from all sides and arrested Gaha who was hiding in the village. Police found bloodstains all over his clothes. The accused, in his statement to the police, said he murdered his landlady because of her continuous nagging to leave the shop and increment of the rent. The victim’s husband is in foreign employment. The police took the dead body and the accused to Kawasoti Police Office. Earlier, the police recovered a brutally killed female body from a forest near Jhyalbas. The police were able to find the identity of the woman and some clues about the killer.
