A gang of local youths beat a 25-year-old man to death in Kahule of Khotang on Sunday night. Chandra Bahadur Karki from Kahule-2 was thrashed by the gang last night, police said. His body was found by locals nearby a spout in his village on Monday morning, according to District Police Office (DPO). Numerous bruises were seen on his body parts. The body has been sent to a health facility in Gaighat of neighbouring Udayapur district for postmortem. Meanwhile, police detained five persons in connection to the attack. DSP Binod Raj Kharel of DPO said police arrested Mohan Khatri (25), Govinda Rai (20), Aaicom Rai (21), Mishan Rai (17) and Pujan Rai (23). The gang members might have attacked Karki under the drunken stupor over a minor dispute, police said. Further investigation is underway.
