Police in Tanahun yesterday recovered the bodies of two women who had gone missing from their homes on different dates. 26-year-old Ramala Darai of Byas-6, Devidanda, was missing since October 5. Her kin had been carrying out a frantic search for her ever since her mysterious disappearance. Ramala’s body was found in a forest near her house yesterday after local women, who had gone to the forest to collect fodder, informed police about a body dangling from a tree. Police said Ramala might have committed suicide in a fit of rage over some domestic issue. Since her body was decomposing and not in a state for carrying out post mortem, it was handed over to her kin for final rites.
Lalimaya Thapa, 74, of Kahushivapur, Phalbhanjyang, who had been missing since Sunday evening was found dead in the Gokhebirauta forest yesterday. After Lalimaya did not return home, the villagers had started searching for her in several groups. Her body was spotted hanging from a tree in the forest. Lalimaya’s body was handed over to her kin after post mortem.
