The District Court has sentenced 27-year-old Puran Chaudhary to 3 years in prison on January 22 for attempting to rape a 15 years old girl. Chaudhary is a resident of Baksaha in Theliya vdc-5. A single bench of District Court Justice Ram Prasad Adhikari issued a verdict sentencing the accused who had been remanded in custody since May 18 to be sent to prison for 3 years. The accused had attempted to rape the victim while she had gone to nearby jungle to collect wood during the morning on April 20. The police had arrested the accused on April 20 after registering a complaint filed by the victim's mother on the same day. The victim had undergone medical checkup at Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital.
