Gurukul School operators held for forgery

Police arrested absconding operators of Gaushala-based Gurukul National Higher Secondary School on a forgery charge. A team deployed from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested the institution's Director Sujit Singh (43) from Jaleshwor-5 of Mahottari, Administration Chief Saroj Rana Magar (31) from Thapagaun of Kathmandu and Manoj Kumar Acharya (36) from Bhaktipur-8 of Sarlahi. Complaints were registered with the law enforcement agency that the school being operated in Gaushala of the Capital for last three years did not pay salaries to its teachers and staff and other dues to various parties assuring them of giving shares of the institution. The operators had assured the teachers and staff that they will be provided with shares of the institution instead of salaries, but ran away later, police said. Courtesy: CIB CIB added that they are yet to pay Rs 19.53 million to various persons including staff, shareholders, advertisement agencies, banks and landlords. The trio also shut down the school in mid of an academic session, leaving hundreds of students in the lurch, police said. Further investigations may reveal if they defrauded others also, according to police. They were arrested on different dates from different places of Capital, according to police. The trio will be charged under the forgery case, police said.
