Ram Narayan Mahato, the editor/publisher of The Public Today, being printed from Gaushala, has been injured in an attack by an unidentified group on January 13. He came under attack by a group of about 20 when he was heading for Everest Sugar Mill for reporting. The group also looted his two mobile phone sets and a camera. Ram Ratan Mahato and Jay Kishor Mahato, who came to help Ram Narayan, were also injured by the same group. The injured are being treated at the local health clinic. Mahato had been publishing news on the Sugar Mill and the attack came when he had gone there for follow-up. Meanwhile, FNJ Mahottari has issued a statement demanding for action against the perpetrators. DSP Lokendra Shrestha said that they were searching for those involved in the attack of journalist Ram Narayan.
