'Fulfill senior citizen's demand'

The Sub-committee of Parliament's Social Justice and Human Rights Committee has directed the government to immediately address the demand of the senior citizens. Since 22 months the senior citizens have been staging demonstration demanding 50 percent discount in public transport fare and health treatment for those who are over 60 years old. Coordinator of parliamentary sub-committee Mokhtar Ahmad has informed that the committee has directed the government which has been ignoring the agitating senior citizens to engage with them and fulfill their demand within 21 days. The committee has also directed the government to increase the social security allowance provided to the senior citizens according to the government's capacity.
