Dhading has started to fall sick due to malnutrition caused by rife starvation. A local social worker Tulasi Jung Thapa informed that 18-year-old Sudeepa Chepang of Mahadevsthan VDC-2 received treatment in the local health centre after she fell seriously ill due to malnutrition. Sudeepa who is currently on the sixth month of her pregnancy also has a one-year-old child who shares her fate of malnutrition. Every year the Chepang community living in the Mahadevsthan Vdc go through starvation resulting in the high number of malnutrition among the children. According to a data released by an NGO called Prayash Nepal, it was found that of the 465 households in Chepang community in Mahadevsthan VDC, 84 children seriously suffer from malnutrition while signs of malnutrition were also seen in 152 other children.
