In a show of strength, the UCPN (Maoist) staged a ‘youth march past ’ in Kathmandu on Tuesday ahead a mass assembly slated for February 28. Members of the party youth wing—Young Communist League (YCL)--participated in the march past programme. “The youth march past was held so as to convey the message that we [UCPN (Maoist) are coming in an effective way in our upcoming protest programmes,” said YCL Chairman Ganesh Man Pun. “This is also a preparation for February 28.” He informed that such march-past programmes were organised in all the major cities of the country. The march past that began from Bhrikutimandap took a round trip through Sahid Gate, Sundhara, Jamal and Durbar Marg.
