(Update)-- A person, who was arrested on the charge of theft, has died under mysterious circumstances in police custody in Resunga Municipality. 39-year-old Ram Bahadur BK was found hanging from the ceiling in the toilet on Saturday night. Police had arrested BK, who originally hails from Resunga Municipality-8, for investigation after a robbery at Masjid on Friday. Police have informed that BK hung himself in the bathroom. However, family members of the deceased have refused to buy it as suicide. They suspect foul play as the police gave conflicting accounts of the incident.
(Updated)-- The family members of 39-year-old Ram Bahadur BK of Resunga Municipality-8, Gulmi demanded an inquiry into his death. BK, detained on February 28 on the charges of theft at a local mosque, was found dead in the toilet while in the police of custody on the evening of March 1. The family members also held a sit-in in front of the District Police Office throughout the day on March 2 demanding investigation and compensation saying his death was suspicious. They strongly reject the possibility of BK's suicide. Krishna, younger brother of the deceased said that they would not accept the body for the funeral until the investigation report is made public. Currently, the body is kept at District Hospital for postmortem. Meanwhile, saying that BK's economic condition was really weak, an all-party meeting held at District Administration Office has decided to provide land for their habitat and a job for his wife, SI Satyanarayan Yadav of District Police Office informed.
