Mani Wali, 81, of Painyadanda in Darmakot VDC-8 has been left stranded in Shreenagar in Sharada Municipality after her family members expelled her from home a month ago. Mani, who had been living in the jungle and later on the footpath, was taken in by a local Bhunti Kumari Bhandari of Sharada Municipality-2. “What could I do when my granddaughter-in-law stripped me naked and forced me out of the house”, Mani said. Bhandari said that she reported the police about her on March 1 after no one came searching for her. Mani’s husband Patu Wali is still at home. Another local said that when he called her grandson asking him to take her back, he warned them of serious consequences. Mani cannot tell the name of her grandson and the date when she was expelled from home.
