A businessman based in Dudhe Bazaar of Shivasatakshi Municipality-9, Jhapa has been reported missing since Saturday night. Ram Prasad Mainali, who runs a jewellery shop in the Bazaar, has not contacted his family and the police have mobilized separate teams to find his whereabouts.
According to locals, Mainali and his wife had arrived in Damak on Saturday afternoon after which he left for Birtamod leaving his wife at the Bazaar and saying he had to settle a dispute over land. Mainali's private vehicle bearing number plate Ba 8 Cha 8077 was found parked at Surunga Chowk. A mobile phone he used was also found in the vehicle. Footage taken from a CC camera shows Mainali parking the vehicle at the Chowk at exactly 5:12 pm. According to District Police Office Jhapa Chief, SP Rabindranath Regmi, police teams have been deployed with primary suspicion of Mainali's abduction. Police have also detained three persons in course of investigation.
