Every VDC of Bajura District is deprived of food security, due to which the problem of malnutrition is in the high range. Looking only at the data that is available, about 7% of children are the victims of malnutrition. "Due to malnutrition, problems like weight loss and stunted physical growth among the children are seen," said the District Health Officer, Gyanendra Dawadi. According to the information provided by the officer, due to the tradition of early marriage, early birth and less gap between the birth of children, parents lack the ability to give proper care and nutrition to their children, which causes malnutrition. According to Nepali law, it says that for marriage a girl should be 20 years old or 18 if the parents agree, but there is still a very old tradition in where they get married at a very early age. Whereas in the 2068 census of Bajur it shows that 24,919 girls were married before the age 20, among those 4000 got married at an age below 18.
