Tension has erupted again in Bijulibazar after police intervened when the protesters were trying to burn down a motorcycle bearing number plate Ba 32 Pa 6655. Due to the police's time action, the vehicle was saved from being torched but it has suffered some damages. Police baton-charged the protesters and dispersed them. Around a half dozen protesters including student leader Nawaraj Karki have been injured due to the police's baton charge. Two protesters involved in the incident were arrested by police.

Tension ran high in Bijuli Bazaar following a clash ensued between bandh enforcers and police personnel on Tuesday. Police lobbed tear gas shells to take the situation under control. In response, bandh enforcers pelted stones at the police personnel. Dozens of bandh enforcers including some police personnel were injured in the clash. Normal life in the Capital has been thrown out of gear following the bandh called by a 30-party alliance led by UCPN-Maoist. The opposition parties have called a three-day nationwide general to mount pressure on the government to promulgate a new constitution on the basis of consensus.
