CPN-M led by Biplob has announced the capture of 452 bigha of land in Kusmethali of Thansingh VDC-1 and 2. A group of 10 men led by District Secretariat member of CPN-M (Biplob) Narayan Gopal announced the capture by hoisting the party flag in the land on April 9. A press statement issued by the party said that the land said to be registered in the name of Dibakar Chand was being sold without the knowledge of the tenants. The press statement signed by CPN-M (Biplob) district secretary Meena Waiba demanded that the land be distributed to the 27 households who are staying there. Earlier, the then CPN-M had also announced capture of the same land on July 30, 2000, during the Maoist insurgency. One of the tenants Ram Krishna BK said that Dibakar Chand registered the land in his name during the survey after cheating them. He added that they had been staying in the land since 1965.
