YCL cadres give death threat to journalist

 YCL cadres affiliated to UCPN-M have threatened Commander Post’s local reporter, Budhha Lopchan, 19, of Bansghari in Dandagao VDC-3 with life threats on April 12 regarding a few days old story on foreign employment. Lopchan said that he was summoned by YCL district Treasurer Karsang Lama of Balthali, Devraj Lama of Thulo Parsel and Man Bahadur Gole of Dandagaon within three days. He said when he went to meet them in front of the Area Police Office on April 12 morning, they tried to assault him. He added that a minor scuffle took place when another journalist Devraj KC tried to save him. Area Police Office Banepa said that those involved have been taken into custody. The YCL cadres threatening him are the local agents of recruiting agencies. Condemning the incident, local media houses issued a statement and submitted a memorandum to the CDO demanding security.
