Man attacked while questioning FinMin’s secretary

 Cadres of Nepali Congress (NC) attacked an inquisitor during a press conference organized by Ramesh Mahat, personal secretary to Minister for Finance Ram Sharan Mahat on Sunday. The press conference was organized at the Reporters’ Club in capital to clarify accusations labelled against Ramesh, also the nephew of minister Mahat, on misuse of corrugated roofing sheets meant for earthquake survivors. “Blows were exchanged against a participant at the press meet,” Chairman of Reporters’ Club Rishi Dhamala said, “We strongly condemn such acts.” The injured is Kabilas village chairman of UCPN (Maoist). Police have reached Reporters’ Club after the incident and the press conference has been put off. Locals of Thansing in Nuwakot had seized 270 bundles out of 300 corrugated roofing sheets meant for constructing blocks of schools based in Nuwakot and handed over to the police on Saturday. They have accused the roofing sheets were being brought to the capital for sale. According to Koshhari Niraula, Chief District Officer of Nuwakot district, the incident took place after Nepal Investment Bank delivered the corrugated sheets for the schools based in Bhadratar, Mahakali, Chaudhada, Panchakanya, Kabilash, Ganeshthan under six VDCs.
