14 children rescued near Indian border

 As many as 14 children being trafficked to India with promises for jobs in the Indian commercial hub, Mumbai, were rescued on Friday evening near the Indian border. The children were rescued with the support from Children and Women Monitoring Booth located near the border at Gaur and the Customs Security Force. The rescued children have been identified as Jakir Alam, 13, Anabarul Dhobi, 12, Sheikh Kuarimullah, 14 and Najamudin, 12, of Dostiya VDC-3 and 4 of Laxmipur. Likewise, Shek Meraj, 13, Jamit Akhtar, 15, Jabed Ansari, 14, Mukdam Alam, 13, Sheikh Habib, 12, and Najam Dhuniya 13 of Birta VDC - 7 and 9 of Gumhariya were also rescued. Among the rescued children, Manoj Kumar Baitha, 12, Diplal Baitha, 13, Santosh Paswan, 15, Sanjaya Paswan, 13, and Siyaram Mahara, 14, hail from Katahariya area. The children have been handed over to their parents, said Tika Ghimire, human rights activist and programme coordinator of Women Security Pressure Group.
