Armed Police Force (APF) Assistant Sub-inspector Deep Kumar Shrestha manhandled police constable of Kakarvitta Area Police Office, Gagan Chaudhary, on Monday. Shrestha allegedly beat him up after Chaudhary held some inedible oil released by APF in collusion with the supplier. APF and Nepal Police have been jointly checking the goods at the customs. The constable has sustained injuries in his eyes, hands and faces, DSP Arjun Timilsina said. “This is the consequence of police trying to be honest,” said the DSP, “It is unfortunate that police got beaten while trying to seize illegal stuff.” There were several incidents of APF misbehaviour with the Nepal Police. Police personnel and customs officials were manhandled by the APF in the past.
