A common man who sold fruits in a cart has suffered brutal beatings at the hand of a policeman here in Janakpur. 30-year-old Birendra Kumar Das from Debpura Rupaitha VDC-4 in Dhanusha was slapped so hard by policeman Binod Yadav that his eardrum ruptured.
Das said that while selling mangoes on the side of the road leading to Janaki Mandir and Janakchowk on Friday evening, police constable Yadav suddenly hit him in the face saying, "Why are you here?"
