A trafficked girl, who was sold by her sister some four years ago from Khadka Bhanjyang in Nuwakot district, has been rescued by Shanti Rehabilitation Shelter in Krishnanagar in Kapilbastu district. Coordinator of the Shelter Bhumiraj Bhattarai said that the 11-year-old girl was rescued from a brothel at Allahabad of Meerganj in India. It is learned that the rescued girl was trafficked by her sister Kuiti Tamang of Jirauna in Chitwan district. Kuiti Tamang had sold the girl for IRs 30,000 by taking her up to Allahabad with a promise to arrange a trip in the Indian city. Currently, Kuiti is in police custody while a case against her is underway in the District Court, Kapilbastu.
