Nepal-India border area in Kanchanpur tense after armed group entered Nepal

Local Nepali folks living in Mahakali of Kanchanpur district, who have been living under the constant fear of Indian SSB's bully have once again been terrorized after a group of Indian nationals entered the Nepali side of the border with weapons on Wednesday, 16 June. Around 50 to 60 Indian nationals armed with sickles, hammers, and knives entered Nepal with the intention of killing local Nepali citizen Bhopal Basnet of Kutiyakabar ward no 10 in Chandani VDC. Both Nepali and Indian security forces immediately intervened after being informed about the armed group. Five-member of the group were arrested by Indian SSB with different weapons, while the rest fled. SSB has not revealed the identity of the arrested. The situation remained tense in Kutiyakabar throughout Wednesday due to the incident.
