The life of a member of Nepal Press Union Chitwan Chapter Shyam Sundar Prasad Giri has been threatened. Artist Sudarshan Gautam issued a death threat to journalist Giri over the phone from Texas State of the US for publishing news titled ‘Artists flying to the US to raise relief in the name of earthquake survivors’ on June 16. Journalist Giri has been operating a film digital magazine — filmbazaar.com from Chitwan. “Artist Sudarshan Gautam threatened to finish me off from the mobile number +15125904012 for covering the news,” said Giri. Issuing a press release, Nepal Press Union’s General Secretary Ajaya Babu Shivakoti has urged the government to initiate action against the person who issued the death threat to a journalist rather than choosing legal means if he felt the news content was fabricated.
