Police have annulled the marriage of Sangita Nepali Damai, 12, of Tripurakot VDC-2 after she filed a complaint at Area Police Office, Tripurakot accusing Biru Nepali, 25, of Juphal VDC-9 on June 23. The local political pressure also had a key role in the annulment of the marriage. The man was also made to pay Rs 20,000 as compensation. The girl, in her complaint, mentioned that Biru and his relatives had held her at his home for seven days saying he had got married to her. She was abducted when she had gone to Motipur village of Juphal VDC to meet her relatives.
