A woman in Kapilbastu was sentenced to 15 days in prison by the district court of Kapilbastu for attempting to frame youths on a false charge of rape. The verdict was issued by a single bench of justice Kiran Kumar Pokhrel. The verdict also gave clean cheat to Govind Kumar Tharu, Ramu Tharu, and Bachchan Tharu who were arrested on the basis of the woman's false rape charges against them. Police arrested them on March 28 and held them in custody after the woman filed a complaint that they had raped her in a jungle while she was returning from her maternal home. Police investigation revealed that the woman's claim was false. The district court decided to send her to prison for 15 days citing that her act wasted the time of police and court and caused unnecessary trouble to the innocent youths.
