Police arrested a couple from Kalagaun-2 in Salyan on the charges of murdering their infant son. The arrested have been identified as 30-year-old Jit Bahadur Basnet and his second wife 30-year-old  Sita Basnet. They had allegedly murdered Jit Bahadur's infant son from his first wife by drowning him in the water on Saturday. Jit Bahadur had married his second wife after his first wife could not give birth to a son. The second wife conceived a son in November. But when the first wife too gave birth to a son around a month ago the second wife grew jealous and tension started to surface in the family.
