Nepal banda affects life across the country, journo Rishi Dhamala assaulted

Normal life across the country including Kathmandu Valley has been affected due to the general strike called by a 30-party alliance led by CPN-Maoist on Sunday. Markets, schools, colleges, business enterprises have remained closed due to the general strike. A few motorcycles, private vehicles and emergency means of vehicles including ambulances, vehicles belonging to the Press and diplomatic missions are plying on the road. Meanwhile, a group of CPN-M cadres clashed with police in Ratnapark area this morning. The clash ensued as police tried to arrest the CPN-M cadres who allegedly threatened people to shut their shops down. Meanwhile, a group of banda enforcers have misbehaved with journalist Rishi Dhamala. He was assaulted on his way to his Putalisadak-based office after concluding a program at Nepali Bani Network this morning. His car, Ba 5 Cha 4778, was vandalized in the incident.
