Six Teenager Girls Taken To India under Pretext of Job

Relatives of six girls of Gorkha have said that they were taken to Banaras, India with the promise of a good job. The girls aged 17 to 20 were taken to Banaras by Dolma Gurung of Barpak and Dhaarni Gurung of Lapu said one of the relatives of the girl Sher Bahadur Gurung. Two girls are from Lapu VDC-3, one is from Aruabang VDC-6, while the rest three are from Barpak and Khorlabesi. Sher Bahadur said that he found out that Dhaarni and Dolpa had taken the girls after the whereabouts of his niece was not known. It is learned that Dola and Dhaarni lured the girls with promises of jobs in a big office as fashion designers. Area Police Office had arrested the duo with the girls while they were waiting to board a bus towards Sunauli in Aabukhaireni, Tanahun on August 10. They were later released when Dhaarn's brother-in-law Hari Bahadur Gurung of Uhiya bailed them. The incident came to light after the girls did not return home even after they were released. Sher Bahadur filed a complaint against Hari Bahadur at the police on August 13 after which he was arrested. Police said that investigation was ongoing into the incident after arresting Hari Bahadur while plans were being made to bring back the girls from Banaras.
