Bhairahawa tense due to clash between bandh-enforcers and police

The situation in Bhairahawa remains tense at the moment due to the clash between cadres of Tharuhat Struggle Committee and United Democratic Madhesi Front who have been enforcing bandh in Rupandehi. Tension escalated after the bandh enforcers resorted to vandalism and arson. They have vandalized and caused arson in different places of Bhairahawa. The protesters have broken glasses and vandalized in more than half dozen places in Bhairahawa including City hospital, Kasi Cinefllix hotel, Nans Hotel and Hotel castle. They have also torched a motor-cycle and vandalized many vehicles. Police fired 4 round tear-gases to scatter the bandh enforcers when they attempted to vandalize shops belonging local businessmen in Belahiya. Two protesters were seriously injured and five sustained minor injury.
