Nepalgunj returns to normalcy

2015-08-28

Lumbini, Banke, Nepalgunj

The daily life of people at Banke district has returned to normal after banda organizers called for reopening of the bazaar and operation of the vehicular movement. The local administration has also withdrawn prohibitory order earlier declared for various areas of Banke district. The main market place of the Nepalgunj city has reopened from early this morning. Likewise, industry, factory and educational institutions have also resumed their services.

According to the District Administration Office, main cities of Banke district including Nepalgunj and Kohalpur have started to function as usual. Locals have felt massive relief after this move as their daily life had been hard-hit by the two-week-long Tarai banda. The vehicular movement, market places and educational institutions have reopened after the agitating Tharuhat cadres decided to call off the banda temporarily, citing inconvenience caused by it.
