The cadres of the agitating Madhes-centric political parties set a microbus on fire at Rupani in Saptari along the East-West Highway this morning. The protesting cadres forced the passengers to get off and torched the vehicle (Ba 2 Ja 6239) stating it defied the strike, said the Area Police Office, Rupani. The microbus was completely destroyed. The situation in the area is reportedly tense currently. The indefinite banda called by the Unified Democratic Madeshi Front (UDMF) to protest the proposed seven provinces has entered 17 days in Terai.
