Morcha cadres attack vehicles escorted by police in Saptari

Normal life in Saptari district has been badly affected on the 19th day of madhesi morcha called bandh due to the closure of marketplaces and other services. Dearth of essential goods is being felt in the district headquarter Rajbiraj, Hanumannagar, Rupani and Bhardaha among other places. Prices of items have gone up ten-folds and few shops that were open were forcibly closed by cadres of madhesi morcha. Cadres of madhesi morcha last night pelted stones and beer bottles at more than 100 vehicles being escorted by the security forces in Saptari section of East-West highway. Driver of a truck bearing numberplate Na 4 Kha 6690 sustained injuries to the eye after being hit by a stone pelted by the protesters. The driver then lost control of the vehicle and it veered off 100 meters down the road. Similarly several other vehicles have suffered damages due to the attack of the protesters hiding beside the highway.
