Detained People Hold Strike in Custody

Dipak Karki and Ganesh Karki of Sunarpani VDC have begun strike in the custody of District Police Office from December 2.

They claimed that the police were trying to implicate them in false charge.

The Karkis were arrested on charge of beating of former chairperson of Red Cross Society, Ramechhap Ram Bahadur Karki. They said that the police had let go the actual guilty and wrongly arrested them.

Dipak is a RPP district level leader and Ganesh is local UML leader. They had held them for investigation and warrant arrests had been provided to the inmates, DSP Sanjiv Sharma said. Ram Bahadur had filed a complaint at District Police Office accusing the duo of assaulting him.
