Sanghiya Limbuwan calls eastern districts banda

The Sanghiya Limbuwan Party Nepal has called indefinite general strike (banda) from on Friday in eastern districts demanding unconditional release of the party cadres who were arrested in course of protest, said Surya Makhim, general secretary at the party. The banda has badly affected the daily life of the people in Panchthar, Ilam, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Terhathum, Dhankuta, Bhojpur and Sankhuwasabha district. With the general strike, vehicles operating on long and short route have not been operated. Similarly, shops and industries were closed in these districts. However, the party has issued a press release and stated that the school and colleges will not be called closure. Meanwhile, police have arrested some party cadres who were involving in attacking a local journalist Krishna Humagain as he was riding a motorbike during banda.
