A clash ensued between the cadres of Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) and security personnel in Janakpur, leaving nearly two dozen people injured on Tuesday. Participants of a rally that began from Janak Chok clashed with police at Bhanu Chok. The cadres of Morcha have accused police of using unnecessary force in their peaceful rally. Following the police action, the protesters turned violent and clashed with police. Also, Ram Chok witnessed violence in a similar incident today. Police fired a dozen teargas shells to contain the situation. TMLP district Chair Parmeshwor Sah, and Sadbhawana’s district Chair Sanj Kumar Singh, among other people, sustained injuries in the clash.
