Homicide charge against 21 in Tikapur case

Police have filed homicide case against 21 in connection of the violence that erupted in Tikapur on August 24. Ram Kumar Kathariya, Sundarlal Kathriya, Dil Bahadur Chaudhary and Raj Kumar Kathariya of Munuwa VDC-1, Hari Narayan Chaudhary of Okharpur in Munuwa VDC-4, Ram Prasad Chaudhary of Jhabahi in Joshipur VDC-4, Prem Chadhary of Padariya in Thapapur VDC-7, Kisanlal Chaudhary and Shantiram Chaudhary of Khaira in Thapapur VDC-5, Brij Mohan Dagaura and Rajesh Chaudhary of Nawalpur inThapapur VDC-7, Bir Bahadur Chaudhary of Thanapur in Tikapur Municipality-1, Ram Naresh Chaudhary of Naklipur in Tikapur Municipality-3, Jit Bahadur Dagaura of Godchhaura in Thapapur VDC-6, Santosh Tharu aka Sangam of Ghiyapuri in Tikapuri Municipality-5, Narul Jaga of Khaira in Thapapur VDC-5, Laxman Tharu of Phulbari VDC-1, Lahuram Chaudhary of Bishalnagar in Dhangadhi Municipality-3, Karan Chaudhary of Munuwa VDC-4, Bishram Chaudhary of Nawalpur in Patharaiya VDC-1 and Shrawan Chaudhary of Latkaniya in Munuwa VDC-4. Among them, Laxman Tharu is central committee member of MJF-D while Lahuram Chaudhary is chairperson of Tharu Kalyankari Sabha and coordinator of Tharuhat/Tharuwan Struggle Committee. Other 18 accused of the same incident are released on date, District Police Office spokesperson Bishwaraj Khadka said. Meanwhile, CDO Mohan Bahadur Chapagain said that the curfew order imposed in Dhangahdi and Tikapur since August 25 would remain in effect for the festival of Teej too. He regretted the decision saying there was no alternative to maintain peace and security saying there might few hours of no curfew on September 16.
