Cadres of the Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) on Friday vandalised five vehicles including an ambulance on Thursday night, police said. A general strike has been called by the morcha in Morang district. The protesters vandalised four trucks and an ambulance for defying the agitation. The ambulance was ferrying a patient when the incident occurred, while the trucks were carrying bamboo. Meanwhile, police arrested a protester, Ashok Rishidev, for his involvement in the incident. Also, a group of two persons who came on a motorcycle torched a parked truck laden with betel nuts in Biratnagar on Thursday noon, police said. The arsonists, however, fled the scene, police said, adding that the truck was damaged in the incident.
