The Court acquits three accused in human trafficking case in Bardiya

The District Court has acquitted three persons arrested on the charges of human trafficking and transportation. According to Shrestedar Khimananda Pandey of the District Court, Chhetra Kumar Chhetri, 38, of Makar VDC in Nawalaparasi, Sohrab Pathan Dhobi, 53, of Gulariya Municipality-7, and Khadga Bahadur Magar, 37, of Suryapatuwa VDC-4 in Bardiya got a clean chit from the district court on September 17. The court has kept the case pending for other absconding accused Sita BK alias Meena, 40, of Makar VDC-4 in Nawalparasi.       7 Nepali women were rescued from Indian border town Laukahi connected with Ganeshpur in Mohammadpur VDC-1 on August 26, 2015, by District Police Office Bardiya with help from India SSB. The women aged 25-38 were being taken to Kuwait through Delhi under the pretext of employment. The DPO, Bardiya arrested Chhetri, Dhobi, and Magar after finding them along with the women in the vehicle and initiated legal action against them. District attorney Ram Prasad Adhikary said that they would appeal the case at Appellate Court for the victim's justice through the court acquitted three out of four accused.
