Bagmati, Lalitpur, Ward 3

A bomb disposal squad of Nepal Army disposed two bombs in Lalitpur early on Sunday - the day Nepal's new constitution is being promulgated. Another bomb was disposed in Kathmandu. Nepal Police had informed the bomb disposal unit of the Army after discovering bombs - one in front of Suzuki Showroom in Pulchowk and another in Mahalxmisthan in Lalitpur. DSP Kishan Singh Thapa of Lalitpur informed Setopati that the bomb in Mahalaxmistha was kept inside a tea kettle, while the one in Pulchowk was put inside a suitcase. Loud sounds were heard twice while disposing the bomb in Pulchowk and once in Mahalaxmisthan. According to Chief of Lalitpur Police, SSP Pitambar Adhikari, the bombs seemed to have been planted with an intension to spread fear among the public, not with a purpose to cause other damages. He also claimed that the security situation in Lalitpur was under control. "We concluded that the bombs were planted with a sole intension to create fear among the public." The same was the case with the bomb planted in Mahalaxmisthan, according to DSP Kishan Singh Thapa. Thapa suspected the involvement of the groups dissatisfied with the new constitution. Police recovered pamphlets mentioning CPN Maoist and dating to Paush, 2071 and party flags from the sites. Suspecting that bombs might have been planted in other locations as well, police has intensified search across the Kathmandu Valley.
