2015-10-03

Sudurpashchim, Kailali, Dhangadhi, Ward 9

Police have arrested three Tharu agitators from the site of sit-in at No Man’s Land on October 2. The arrested activists are Tharuhat Tarai Party Nepal’s central treasurer Khadak Chaudhary, Shiva Chaudhary of Kota in Pahalmanpur VDC and Kulraj Dagaura of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolis. They had held the sit-in demanding ban on Indian import. DSP Bishwaraj Khadka said that all three arrested cadres were kept in custody at District Police Office, Kailali. Meanwhile, the continued blockade by India has badly affected public life in the district. A businessman Maya Prakash Bhatta said that due to the lack of fuel, there has been shortage of construction materials. Far-West Regional Transporter Association chairperson Tekraj Joshi said that 75 per cent of the vehicles were off the road because of the shortage of fuel triggered by the blockade.
