Police Post Attacked Blaming for Not Preventing Clash

A group, blaming police for not taking active initiation to prevent a clash occurred between two groups of local youths, vandalized Temporary Police Post at Reugha of Liwang3 on June 5.

 

One person was killed and three others were injured when two groups of youths clashed in a course of a dispute on June 4. The youths of Raugha and Hwama9 had clashed. Bishleshan Gharti, 22 of Riswang, who had been critically injured in the clash, succumbed on the way to hospital at Satdobato same day.

Youths, who were irate accusing police of not taking effort to prevent the clash between two groups of the youths, vandalized the police post today. The police post was damaged and two police personnel including ASI Nanda Pokharel were injured in the vandalism. The situation, which remained tensed till this morning, returned to normalcy after an agreement was reached to take action against the guilty.

 

Among the accused, four have been arrested and search for the absconded is underway, Rupesh Khadka, police inspector said. <
