A youth has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman from Canada on June 4.

Basanta Karki, 30, of BirendranagarN.P.6 was arrested as he has been accused for raping the Canadian woman by threating her in a hotel in Surkhet-Jumla Road on May 29, police said.

Karki was arrested after the victim filed a complaint at Pokhara based Tourist Police on June 4, Govinda Ram Pariyar, SP at Surkhet District Police Office, said.

Investigation on the accused is underway, police added.
