HR Monitoring and Documentation Training Begins

A three-day training on Human Rights Monitoring and Documentation has begun in Bhedetar of Dhankuta on June 11. The program is organized by INSEC Eastern Regional Office.

 

Addressing the program, INSEC regional coordinator Somraj Thapa said that the training would help the participants to establish facts in incidents of human rights violations.

 

INSEC representatives of eastern regions, six districts of Mid region and documentation officers are attending the program.

 

Speaking at the program, director of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Biratnagar Koshraj Neupane shed light on the nine big treaties. He said that human rights defenders have a crucial role in exerting pressure on government to ratify the two treaties which Nepal has not acceded.

 

INSEC district representatives briefed about the human rights situation of the district. Ganesh Bhandari, Govind Tripathi, Pramin Ghimire of INSEC Central Office and Arjun Prasad Koirala of NHRC Biratnagar will facilitate the training.
