Six youths have been arrested for gang rape of a woman on June 6.

The arrestees are Surendra Basnet, 30, Dipesh Magar, 18, Subash Khawas, 15, Shiva Magar, 17, Debit Lawar, 16 of Phidim1 and Dipesh Shrestha of Sinam5 of Taplujung, the Panchthar District Police Office said.

The arrestees have been accused for raping a 30-year-old woman of Yangnam2 on June 5 after making her unconscious with the help of a medicine. The victim, who has bruises on her arms, chest and back, has been undergoing treatment at district hospital. Details of the incident will be known after the report of her health checkup is received, the hospital source said.

According to the victim, she was raped while she was asleep. Locals said that she was raped at 10:00 pm.

Investigation on the arrestee is underway, Yam Bahadur Paudel, Inspector at the district police office said.
