Kin of Man Mohan Adhikari, 32, of Byas Municipality has filed an FIR against five persons at the District Police Office, Tanahun, on Sunday. Adhikari was murdered on Friday night. The deceased brother Chandra Mohan said they suspected the involvement of seven persons in the murder of Adhikari. “We have filed FIR against five persons only as two others were the minors,” he added. He informed that the two kids were street children, while the other two suspects had absconded.
Meanwhile, DSP Rakesh Singh of DPO said Adhikari’s family had lodged the FIR against five persons. He said the police have arrested the five suspects. He, however, refused to speak further saying the investigation into the case is still underway. Adhikari’s relatives said they would not receive the body until the culprits were given punishment by the Law. Earlier, Adhikari had an altercation with the street children while he was drinking alcohol at a hotel near Madi Bridge on Friday night. Adhikari was found unconscious lying on the road just after the incident. The doctors at Damauli Hospital pronounced Adhikari dead as soon as he was taken to the hospital. The police have recovered scissors, cap, and slippers, among others, from the incident site.
